More Email Space available now - 12/20/11

Beginning a few days ago we increased the maximum quotas for paid mailbox upgrades. The maximum available had been 400MB for a long time, and we've increased that to 3.1GB (3100MB). The default quota for all mailboxes is still 100MB, which is all you need if you mostly use POP and store your email on your computer. If you mostly use Web Mail or you like to leave all your email on the server, then you might need a higher storage quota.

Why are we having to pay for this little amount of extra space?

For Neighborhood Watch I send out messages to neighbors on 3 streets and I have these problems with Web Mail -

1. When I list more than about 6 email addresses as Blind addresses my message lines string out to the length of the address list. How many addresses can I list at one time without effecting the format of my email?

2. If I have taken a while to create a message sometimes I hit SEND and nothing happens. Other times I get a message saying there was an error sending but often it goes anyhow and occasionally I just lose the message after all my work. If the message is not lost I do a work-around by putting it into draft and sending it from there. That usually works although I sometimes still get the error message. (The message goes by so fast that I have yet to have time to write it down.)

3. I like having the new fonts but sometimes when I go to a new line or paragraph the font returns to a common font and I have to go back, hit on the last character printed in the special fond (usually a period) and then procede.

Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry, but 100MB is an absurd limit. It's a tiny fraction of what the free email providers offer. I've been a paying Earthlink customer for nearly 20 years, and battling my mailbox to keep it from filling up has become a horror show. I can't go one day without clearing it or else it will fill up and mail bounces. The banner ads make the web interface run so slowly (and sometimes not at all), that it can take forever to dig out and delete old messages.

The fact that the Web Mail interface has more (and slower) ads than most of the free email providers on top of the miniscule limit crosses the line from annoying to insulting.

Apologies if this sounds harsh, but when I can walk into Walmart and buy a 1 TERABYTE hard drive for less than $100, there is no excuse for telling paying customers that they have to pay extra to have more than 100 MB of mailbox space.
